62nd Wiltshire Regiment of Foot Regency Shako Plate

A 62nd or Wiltshire Regiment of Foot Officer’s Regency Shako plate circa 1825 comprising an elaborate eight pointed silver (white metal) star with a fire gilt device of a half laurel leaf wreath and a strap bearing the battle honor Peninsula with a Georgian crown above. The crown voided to show a rich crimson velvet cushion. In the centre are Arabic numerals for 62.
The reverse retains its original fixing lugs at 9.00 and 3.00 o’clock to facilitate attaching to the Regency shako. As is often typical with Regency shako plates the reverse has a chamfered backing plate.
A rare opportunity to acquire a scarce regency shako plate in very good condition.
