Portrait of Colonel H. Hanmer, Royal Horse Guards circa 1825

An historically important oil on canvass small portrait of Col H. Hanmer ( 1789-1868), Royal Horse Guards formerly in the collection of Anne S. K. Brown. Portraits of officers of the household Cavalry are scarce and this portrait serves to clarify the order of dress worn by officers of the Royal Horse Guards in the period immediately following Waterloo.

A well executed English School painting showing good detail and colour in a gilt gesso frame with a named attribution panel at the foot of the frame. Provenance with Parker gallery and Anne S.K. Brown collection , Private collection.
