A Light Infantry Officer’s Whistle and Chain Set circa 1840’s

A very rare Light Infantry officer’s gilt whistle and chain set from a buff shoulder belt circa 1840’s comprising a double chain attached to a strung powder horn and terminating in a whistle held in its special purpose housing.
Part of a consignment of early HEIC accroutrements belonging to an officer in the 34th Madras Native Infantry or Chicacole Light Infantry. In very good condition with only minor loss of fire gilt to the whistle and powder horn.
Whistle sets of this period to Infantry regiments are extremely scarce, it is particularly pleasing to be able to positively identify the regiment.
